Ha Jung Woo recently sat down with long-time friend Choi Hwa Jung on her YouTube channel, where he didn’t hold back about his public relationship with actress Cha Jung Won, or the “accidental” marriage rumors started by his own father.
Choi, who has been close friends with Ha for years, congratulated him on his relationship, saying, “Didn’t you mention having a girlfriend before? I didn’t know it was her. I’m such a fan,” referring to his public girlfriend, Cha Jung Won.
When asked if he knew her, Ha Jung Woo responded, “Of course, I know her. You’re the only one who doesn’t know how popular she is. She’s a fashionista known for her incredible sense of style. If she’s free today, I asked her to come with me.” He also expressed affection for her, adding, “Please invite her separately sometime.”
He then shared the behind-the-scenes story of the marriage rumors that recently made headlines. “My father was tricked,” Ha Jung Woo explained. “A reporter contacted him and said, ‘I hear your son is getting married. Congratulations.’ My father, not knowing who it was, responded, ‘Yes, yes. Thank you,’ and I think he mistakenly thought I knew about the whole situation.”
He went on to say, “When these kinds of articles are published, they should check with our agency before releasing them, but somehow it got announced without verification.”
After the first article, Ha Jung Woo received a call from his father, actor Kim Yong Gun. “My father said, ‘I’m sorry,'” Ha Jung Woo recalled.
When Choi Hwa Jung asked if he acted cute to comfort his dad, Ha Jung Woo laughed and replied, “We’re not that close where I can be spoiled like that.”
Ha Jung Woo revealed on February 4th that he’s in a relationship with actress Cha Jung Won, with plans for marriage. His agency, however, stated that nothing regarding marriage has been confirmed yet.
Currently, Ha Jung Woo is starring in tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama Mad Concrete Dreams, which premiered on February 14th.
