RM of BTS injured his ankle on March 19th, just two days before the group’s highly anticipated comeback show, according to his agency Big Hit Music.
Big Hit Music explained that RM was hurt during a rehearsal and immediately went to the hospital for treatment. The injury was diagnosed as a sprain in his accessory navicular bone and a partial ligament tear, which requires at least two weeks of rest with a leg cast.
Despite the injury, RM is eager to perform at the comeback concert, which will take place in Gwanghwamun. However, the agency decided to follow medical advice and minimize RM’s movement during the show to avoid further damage. RM’s participation in the performance will be limited, including his involvement in choreography.
BTS will hold a free comeback concert, BTS COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG, on March 21st at 8 PM at Gwanghwamun Square.
The group recently released their album ARIRANG, which blends traditional Korean folk melodies with themes of perseverance. The album features the upbeat song “SWIM,” co-written by RM. The album was produced with the help of artists like Diplo, Ryan Tedder and Flume. Promotional photos for the album show the members in sharp business attire, and fans are excited for the upcoming Netflix live stream of the event on March 21st.
