‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Wins 2 Awards at Oscars, Ahn Hyo Seop Spotted on Red Carpet

Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters has won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

KPop Demon Hunters beat tough competition to win the prestigious award at the 98th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 15th at 7 PM local time.

The film was announced as the winner after competing against notable nominees such as ARCO, Elio, Little Amélie or the Character of Rain and Zootopia 2.

Director Maggie Kang, who took the stage to accept the award, expressed her heartfelt emotions, thanking all the fans and apologizing for making a movie with a protagonist who looks like her so late. She added that the next generation won’t have to long for movies like this and dedicated the award to Korea and Koreans around the world.

Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo Seop made his red carpet debut at the Oscars.

Ahn Hyo Seop, who voiced Jinwoo in KPop Demon Hunters, attended the red carpet at the 98th Academy Awards. This was his first time at the event, as he was officially invited by the Academy for his work on the film.

The song “Golden” from Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters won the Oscar for Best Original Song. The song’s creator and vocalist, EJAE, tearfully expressed his gratitude during his acceptance speech on stage.

On this day, EJAE, Mark Sonnenblick, Joong Gyu Kwak, Yu Han Lee, Hee Dong Nam , Jeong Hoon Seo and Teddy, who worked on the song “Golden” for K-Pop Demon Hunters, were awarded the Oscar for Best Original Song. EJAE the stage, tearfully expressing his thanks. Watch her tearful winning speech below
