Touching details have emerged about the recent wedding of power couple Shin Mina and Kim Woo Bin, revealing just how emotional the big day was for the bride.
Film director Yuk Sang Hyo, who worked with Shin Mina on the movie Our Season, shared behind-the-scenes stories in a column for The Hankyoreh on January 9. “The beautiful bride shed tears throughout the ceremony,” he recalled.
The couple tied the knot on December 20th at The Shilla Seoul. Director Yuk described the atmosphere vividly, noting the mix of humor and emotion. He confessed to laughing at the serious tone of the host, actor Lee Kwang Soo, especially when he joked about EXO’s D.O., who had to cancel his performance due to scheduling conflicts.
Yuk also shared a charming anecdote about BTS’s V, who was in attendance. “My wife sent me a message to look for V,” he wrote. “When I finally found him, he was quietly sitting among the actors… dressed modestly as if he wanted to avoid taking any spotlight from the day’s protagonists.”
According to the director, Kim Woo Bin made a memorable entrance, pointing a finger towards the sky and thumping his chest with his fist in celebration.
However, it was Shin Mina’s visible emotion that stole the show. “She seemed deeply moved by this marriage,” Yuk observed. “Even I, sitting as a guest, could fully feel their loving hearts.”
He described a poignant moment when the couple greeted guests at his table. “It was heartwarming when the bride, with tear stains still visible, quietly said, ‘We will live happily.’… At that moment, actress Shin Mina was simply a pure bride earnestly wishing to live happily with the man she loved.”
The wedding was attended by Ahn Bo Hyun, Kim Tae Ri, Go Doo Shim, Uhm Jung Hwa and more. On their wedding day, the couple also announced a joint donation of 300 million won ($220,000 USD) to charity.
