Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight has officially become the first Korean movie of 2026 to surpass its break-even point.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network, as of 9:30 AM on January 9th, the film exceeded a cumulative audience of 720,000. This milestone was achieved on December 17th day of its release.
Maintaining a steady box office momentum, the film is now racing toward the 800,000-viewer mark. It is credited with reviving the romance and melodrama genre in South Korean theaters, drawing comparisons to classic hits like Architecture 101 and On Your Wedding Day. With strong support, particularly from teenage audiences during the winter vacation season, the film is expected to continue its box office success throughout January.
Starring Shin Sia and Choo Young Woo, the film tells the poignant story of Seo Yoon, a girl who loses her memory every time she wakes up, and Jae-won, the boy who dedicates himself to filling her days with new memories.
The movie is currently screening in theaters nationwide.
