Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, has officially begun preparations to launch a new idol group.
SPOTV News reported on December 3rd that Min Hee Jin’s OOAK Records is scheduled to hold private, in-person auditions at a dance academy on December 7th.
Min Hee Jin founded OOAK Records in October and has since completed the corporate registration process. The company has secured headquarters in the Sinsa-dong neighborhood of Seoul. The agency’s registered business scope is comprehensive, covering artist management, music production, distribution, event planning and brand management. Min Hee Jin is listed as an executive director of the corporation.

The establishment of the company was formalized via a press release issued under the OOAK Records name. Notably, this announcement coincided with Min Hee Jin’s third court hearing regarding her lawsuit against HYBE, in which she is seeking to confirm the termination of her shareholder agreement and claim put option rights.
Industry watchers see this recruitment drive as a clear signal that Min Hee Jin plans to build a completely new team from scratch, distinct from NewJeans. The auditions are open to applicants born between 2006 and 2011, regardless of gender or nationality, suggesting she may be considering both boy and girl groups.
The audition venue itself has drawn attention. Considered one of Korea’s top three dance studios, it is known for training crews that appeared on Mnet’s Street Dance Girls Fighter 2. It has a reputation for excellence: Kirsten, leader of Jam Republic, noted it was where she taught her first class in Korea, and Kyoka, leader of the Street Woman Fighter winning team Osaka Ojo Gang, has also held special workshops there. NewJeans’ performance director, Black.Q, has previously given lessons at this specific studio.
During her recent court appearance, an emotional Min Hee Jin pleaded her innocence.
“It felt like hell, but I endured it for the sake of NewJeans,” she stated tearfully. She insisted that she managed the company transparently and did nothing to warrant dismissal, accusing HYBE of conducting an illegal audit to force her out.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that NewJeans has declared a return to ADOR. Members Haerin and Hyein officially announced their return following extensive discussions with the agency. Subsequently, Danielle, Minji, and Hanni independently decided to return and have held individual meetings with ADOR management, though the final terms regarding their return have not yet been disclosed.
