Weeks after dating rumors between Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Do Hoon made headlines, the two actors—and director Lee Eung Bok—addressed the speculation with humor during the press conference for TVING’s new original series Dear X on October 30th.
Director Lee Eung Bok laughed off the reports, saying, “We all just laughed when we heard about the rumors. I’ll provide more photos,” drawing laughter from the room.
Earlier, photos circulated online claiming that Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Do Hoon had traveled together to Nha Trang, Vietnam, leading some netizens to point out that the woman in the photo wore an outfit similar to one seen on Kim Yoo Jung’s social media.
Both actors quickly denied the speculation, explaining that the trip was a team vacation following the end of filming. Their agencies clarified, “The Vietnam trip was not just the two of them—it was a group vacation with those who happened to have free time after shooting wrapped.”
Kim Yoo Jung recalled the moment the rumor broke, saying, “We were just finishing our Busan schedule when it hit the wire, and everyone laughed so hard. Honestly, we just took it as a sign that people were interested in us, so I thought, ‘It’s a good thing.’”
Co-star Kim Young Dae added, “I didn’t know anything. I couldn’t make it to the trip, so I called them right away to ask if it was true—and they told me it wasn’t.”
Dear X follows a woman who hides her cruel nature behind a perfect mask as she climbs from her own personal hell to the top of Korea’s entertainment world—and the men who personally chose hell to protect her.
The series was officially invited to the 30th Busan International Film Festival, where its first two episodes premiered to strong praise. It also marks TVING’s first global co-production with HBO Max, and will launch simultaneously in 18 countries across Korea and the Asia-Pacific region.
The first four episodes of Dear X premiere on November 6th at 6 PM KST on TVING.
