BTS member Kim Tae Hyung—better known worldwide as V—has purchased a high-end penthouse in Seoul’s Cheongdam neighborhood for 14.2 billion won (about 10.1 million USD), records show. Even more eye-popping: the deal appears to have been made entirely in cash, with no mortgage registered.
According to property filings dated September 17th, V acquired a 273.96-square-meter unit at PH129 (formerly The Penthouse Cheongdam). The duplex residence comes with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Sources note the sales contract was first signed in early May, with full payment settled this month.
Completed in August 2020, PH129 is one of Seoul’s most exclusive addresses, with only 29 units spread across 20 above-ground floors and six basement levels. All residences are designed as duplexes. Originally launched as The Penthouse Cheongdam, the building later adopted the name PH129 to highlight its Cheongdam-dong 129 street address.
The building’s A-list roster of residents includes actor couple Jang Dong Gun and Ko So Young as well as pro golfer Park In Bee.
