Kim Nam Joo is making headlines for her signature blend of blunt and witty advice, which she recently shared with her junior colleague, actress Kim Ok Vin.
On the September 4th episode of Kim Nam Joo’s SBS talk show, Kim Ok Vin opened up about the struggles she’s been facing in her acting career. “Even when you pour your passion into a project, the results don’t always follow,” she shared. “It feels like a profession where praise and recognition come slowly.”
Without skipping a beat, Kim Nam Joo lightened the mood with her trademark humor. “What do you mean there’s no reward? You get paid,” she joked. “You get paid a lot, too.”
Once the laughter settled, Kim Nam Joo offered more thoughtful advice. “A project belongs to the whole team, and as the lead, you can’t get discouraged,” she explained. “You can’t be swayed by others’ opinions; you have to control your own mindset.”
She wrapped up with her personal philosophy as an actress: “What matters is whether we did our best and enjoyed the process.”
Kim Nam Joo, who has been married to actor Kim Seung Woo since 2005, is known for her no-nonsense attitude. She also owns a home in the Samseong-dong area of Seoul, which is reportedly valued at around 17 billion won (r$12.5 million USD), a fact that has drawn public attention in the past.
