‘Squid Game’ Sweeps 6 Awards at Gold Derby TV Awards, Including Best Drama and Acting Honors

Netflix’s Squid Game has once again proven its global dominance, winning six major honors at the Gold Derby TV Awards, a leading U.S. pop culture ceremony.

According to Gold Derby’s official site on August 19th, Squid Game took home six trophies at the 2025 Gold Derby TV Awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama (Lee Jung Jae), Best Supporting Actress (Kang Ae Sim), Best Supporting Actor (T.O.P), Best Guest Performer (Gong Yoo), and Ensemble of the Year.

The awards cover content released between 2024 and 2025. With Squid Game Season 2 (released December 2024) and Season 3 (released June 2025) both enjoying massive global success, this year’s wins are seen as recognition of the back-to-back achievements of both seasons.

Now in its 22nd year, the Gold Derby recognize excellence across 30 categories spanning drama, variety, animation, and film.

Since its groundbreaking first season in 2021, Squid Game has become a worldwide phenomenon. Seasons 2 and 3 continued the momentum with strong storytelling and standout performances, sweeping major U.S. awards and further cementing K-content’s influence on the global stage.
