According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system, the film attracted an impressive 122,491 viewers on its July 23 release day. This strong debut followed a six-day streak at No. 1 in advance ticket sales.
Theaters were packed with enthusiastic audiences from the earliest screenings, and positive word-of-mouth quickly spread online. Viewers have praised the film’s “refreshing action and great chemistry,” with many leaving comments like, “Two hours flew by! How am I supposed to wait for the sequel?” and noting that it’s enjoyable “whether you’ve read the original or not.”
However, this glowing domestic reception appears to contrast with early reactions from international viewers. Initial reviews on global platforms like IMDb suggest a more mixed or critical response from audiences.
Since it’s only been one day since release, it remains to be seen how word-of-mouth will develop and how the contrasting domestic and international reviews will ultimately affect the film’s overall success.
