Omniscient Reader: The Prophet star Lee Min Ho is opening up about his personal life.
In a recent interview, the Hallyu superstar revealed, “Of course I think about getting married. These days, I’ve been reflecting more and more on what really matters when it comes to love. The more I think about it, the more I feel that building a family and dreaming of having children is, in a way, one of the most essential values we have as human beings.”
But while the idea of settling down is on his mind, Lee Min Ho admitted it’s not as simple as it sounds. “Naturally, I think about marriage. But it doesn’t go the way you want it to. It feels like a miracle would have to happen. It’s still pretty vague for me… I think I’ll know it when it feels like, ‘This is a miracle.’ That’s when I’ll get married.”
The actor also got introspective about his views on relationships. “I think I have a different standard when it comes to how I treat people, especially in romantic relationships. I used to not think much about the importance of little, everyday joys. So the kind of person I’d want to be with is someone who either finds happiness in those small things, or someone who shares the same direction in life as me—someone who either complements what I lack or is similar to me.”
“I don’t mind a celebrity. I really don’t care about what job they have,” he added.
Lee Min Ho also shared some thoughts on fellow star Lee Jung Jae, who’s known to be one of his close friends in the industry. The two had overlapping promotions in the U.S. following the massive global success of Squid Game in 2021 and the release of Lee Min Ho’s series Pachinko. “Watching him fully immerse himself in so many different projects has been really inspiring,” Lee said. “I’m still in the process of realizing how that intensity and focus affect me and give me energy.”
Meanwhile, Omniscient Reader: The Prophet is set to hit theaters on July 23rd.
