Lee Dong Gun is reportedly in a relationship with actress Kang Hae Rim, who is 16 years younger than him. While both stars’ agencies declined to confirm the news—calling it a “private matter”—sources close to the couple say they are indeed dating and that Lee has been openly happy about it. He’s reportedly said things like, “Thanks for the congratulations,” and “I’m really happy.”
The couple has been spotted on multiple dates in the Gangnam area of Seoul, casually dressed and seemingly unbothered by public attention. Witnesses saw them walking together and spending time at cafés. Lee has even introduced Kang Hae Rim to his friends as his girlfriend, according to acquaintances.
Still, both agencies maintained the same official stance. A representative from Lee Dong Gun’s agency WPLUS said, “It’s a private matter, so we can’t confirm anything,” while Kang Hae Rim’s agency ANDMARK gave a similar response.

This marks Lee Dong Gun’s sixth public relationship, following his previous romances with Kim Min Jung, Han Ji Hye, Cha Ye Ryun, Jiyeon of T-ara and his ex-wife Jo Yoon Hee.
In a past interview, Lee’s father commented on his son’s openness about his dating life: “I think my son has gone public with five relationships. I once asked him why, since most celebrities keep it private. He told me, ‘It’s because I want to show respect to the person I’m dating.’ That’s how he got the nickname ‘Casanova,’ although he didn’t like it—he said he was just being honest.”
Now, with Kang Hae Rim, Lee Dong Gun steps into his sixth public relationship—and his first since his 2020 divorce from Jo Yoon Hee. He also recently opened a café on Jeju Island, showing that things are going well for him both personally and professionally.
