Cha Joo Young is in talks to star in the lead role of the upcoming drama Who Are You (literal title).
Her agency, Ghost Studio, told Xports News on June 2 that Cha Joo Young has received an offer to appear in Who Are You and is currently reviewing it.
Earlier that day, Ilgan Sports reported that Cha Joo Young is expected to star in Who Are You, a romantic comedy about a black ops agent, Lee Tae Joo, who has lost his memory, and a national sweetheart, Yoo Ah Rin, who has lost love. Together, they search for their true memories and love.
According to the report, Cha Joo Young has been offered the role of the female lead, Yoo Ah Rin, a popular actress whose every project becomes a trending topic and who is also the daughter of a major opposition party’s leading presidential candidate.
If confirmed, this would mark Cha Joo Young’s next lead role following her success in The Glory and The Queen Who Crowns.
Cha Joo Young debuted in the 2016 drama Cheese in the Trap and gained widespread recognition for her role as Choi Hye Jeong in the hit Netflix series The Glory. Most recently, she earned praise for her compelling performance as Queen Wongyeong in the historical drama The Queen Who Crowns.
