Park Bo Young is once again proving why she’s one of Korea’s most beloved actors—with a career-defining dual-role performance in tvN’s new weekend drama Our Unwritten Seoul, which premiered last week.

In the drama, Park takes on the challenge of playing twin sisters living vastly different lives: the free-spirited Yoo Mi Ji, drifting through a series of short-term jobs, and Yoo Mi Rae, struggling to survive the cutthroat world of a corporate life at a conglomerate. The story takes a bold turn when Mi Ji accidentally stumbles into Mi Rae’s harsh reality—and makes a radical proposal: “I’ll live as you. You live as me.”

Park Bo Young brought Mi Ji’s vibrant and fearless personality to vivid life while also authentically capturing her past as a track and field prodigy, her bittersweet first love with Ho Su, and her current struggles with loss and anxiety.

As the story unfolds around the sisters adapting to each other’s unfamiliar environments, Park Bo Young’s acting prowess shined from the very first episode. Whether playing Mi Ji trying to navigate cold corporate culture in her sister’s place, or Mi Rae reconnecting with family back home while living Mi Ji’s life, the actress expressed each character with completely different energy, instantly drawing viewers in.

Particularly memorable was a conference room scene where she perfectly captured Mi Ji’s quirky wit and confusion when asked about “ESG management.” Later, in a salon scene, she delivered natural banter between the sisters that injected the drama with infectious energy.

Park Bo Young convincingly portrayed the temperature difference between Mi Ji and Mi Rae—identical on the outside but completely different within—through her meticulous acting choices. Going beyond a simple dual role, she masterfully built complex emotional layers that made it feel like one person was simultaneously living two different lives.

Even in the most emotionally charged moments, her restrained expressions left deep impressions, as she carefully constructed each character’s psychology to earn viewers’ empathy.
