Disney Plus has decided to indefinitely delay the release of the series Knock Off, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah.

On March 21st, a representative from Disney Plus’s Knock Off team told Star News, “We have decided to indefinitely delay the release of Knock Off after careful consideration.”

The Disney Plus’s side refrained from elaborating on the reason for the indefinite delay or providing updates on future plans.

Knock Off is a series that follows an ordinary man who rises to become a global “Counterfeit King” in the counterfeit goods market after losing his job during the IMF crisis. Filming for Season 2 was nearly complete, with a release scheduled for next month, but Disney Plus has now decided on an indefinite delay. The decision follows a scandal involving actor Kim Soo Hyun’s personal life.

Previously, in November last year, Kim Soo Hyun attended the 2024 Disney Content Showcase in Singapore, participating in a press conference for Knock Off with both Korean and international media. At the time, he said, “Romance plays a small role in this project—about 15%. Compared to my warm and sweet character Baek Hyun Woo in Queen of Tears, I see Kim Sung Joon as a cold, rational figure focused purely on survival—a very realistic person.” He showed his attachment to the series, but the controversy surrounding his personal life has now left its release uncertain.
