Following Kim Sae Ron‘s sudden passing, her closest friends in the entertainment industry have shared their grief and heartfelt messages.
On February 20th, actress Lee Young Yoo took to Instagram, posting several intimate photos with the late actress alongside the caption, “My eternal husband, my heart, my other half, my life, our Ron.” The photos showcased their close friendship in various heartfelt moments.
Lee, who first met Kim while filming MBC drama The Queen’s Classroom, continued, “Having you in my life made me so happy, dashing, and colorful,” adding, “You always gave so much and felt it wasn’t enough… Thanks to you, I experienced and received such unconditional love. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.”
PENTAGON’s Kino also expressed his devastation, reflecting, “In two years, I’ve bid farewell to two beloved friends at the same funeral hall. Sae Ron must have missed Bin a lot.” The ‘Bin’ Kino referenced is ASTRO’s Moonbin, who passed away in 2023. He continued, “How many more stars must we lose before this stops? What you see isn’t everything,” adding, “Being a public figure doesn’t mean one should endure baseless speculation, exaggerated stories, and indiscriminate criticism.”
Close friend Lee Su Hyun of AKMU has withdrawn from her scheduled guest appearance in Onew’s concert as well. Onew’s team announced on February 20th, “We sincerely apologize to audience members who were looking forward to Onew and Lee Su Hyun’s stage together. We will do our best to deliver an even better performance. We ask for your understanding once again.”
Reports indicate Lee Su Hyun has been maintaining vigil at Kim’s funeral and appears unable to proceed with the concert while grieving the loss of her friend.
Kim Sae Ron passed away on February 16th. She was found at her home and transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police reported no suicide note was found, and the case will be treated as an unusual death.
