Son Suk Ku, Go Youn Jung, Namkoong Min Top Korea’s Most-Seen TV Ad Stars of 2024

Son Suk Ku, Go Youn Jung, and Namkoong Min have dominated South Korea’s advertising landscape, according to new data released by analytics firm IGAWorks.

The company’s “2024 TV Commercial Model Exposure Trend Report,” released yesterday, reveals Son Suk Ku as the most-viewed commercial star of the year, with a staggering 6.96 billion impressions. The actor appears in campaigns for brands including Aronamin Gold, Kelly, Jjapaghetti The Black, Hyundai Motors, and PGX. Go Youn Jung secured second place with 6.64 billion impressions, while Namkoong Min rounded out the top three with 6.49 billion impressions.

The top 10 list also includes heavyweight names such as Ma Dong Seok, Cha Eun Woo, Lee Na Young, Lee Bo Young, along with TV personalities Kim Sung Joo and Yoo Jae Suk, and figure skating icon Kim Yuna.

Breaking down by industry sectors, the health and medical category led with 136 billion impressions (24% market share), featuring Kim Sung Joo and Kim Ji Ho as top performers. The food and beverage sector (106.1 billion impressions) was dominated by Go Youn Jung and Son Suk Ku, while K-pop sensation BTS and Park Bo Gum led the household and lifestyle category (83 billion impressions). Go Youn Jung and Namkoong Min topped the financial sector (44.4 billion impressions).

In terms of brand ambassadorships, Cha Eun Woo and IU led the pack, each representing 13 different brands. Soccer star Son Heung Min and IVE’s An Yujin followed with 11 brands each, while Lee Hyori and Yim Si Wan each secured deals with 10 brands.
