The highly anticipated adaptation of Baek Young Ok’s 2012 novel, Seven O’clock Breakfast Meeting for the Broken Heart (literal translation), has kicked off production on December 29th, assembling a powerhouse cast including Suzy, Lee Jin Wook, Yoo Ji Tae, and Keum Sae Rok.
The film follows Sa Gang (Suzy) and Ji Hoon (Lee Jin Wook) at a unique breakfast gathering where participants exchange their “break-up mementos,” sharing stories of heartbreak and learning to cope with their lost loves.
The project pairs Suzy with Yu Ji Tae in what promises to be an emotionally charged narrative between a flight attendant and a pilot exploring themes of love and loss. Meanwhile, Lee Jin Wook portrays a professional consultant instructor opposite Keum Sae Rok’s teacher character, bringing to life a long-term relationship’s realistic dissolution.

The casting generated particular buzz due to the reunion of Suzy and Lee Jin Wook, who previously briefly shared screen time in Netflix’s Doona!, where they portrayed a K-pop star and a producer. Their new collaboration has fans eager to see how their characters will connect through their exchanged break-up mementos.
Meanwhile, the production is eyeing a winter theatrical release in the latter half of 2025.
