Squid Game 2 star Park Sung Hoon has directly addressed the controversy surrounding adult content that appeared on his Instagram.
During an interview on January 8th, Park emotionally addressed the incident, saying, “I caused so much discomfort and disappointment to many people with my huge mistake. I’m truly sorry.” He added, “I came here today feeling extremely nervous and with a heavy heart. And the biggest reason is that so many of our production team and staff put in tremendous effort, and I feel like I’ve caused them harm.”
Park shared the whole story of what happened: “I was about to head out for a lunch schedule when I received the problematic photo in my DM. It was during the first week of the show’s release, just days after it had come out. I was exchanging viewer reactions with my manager, so it was shocking. While trying to forward that photo, there might have been some kind of technical error—it’s a situation I can’t even understand myself, but when I checked later, it had somehow been uploaded.”
He continued, “I immediately called my manager in panic, and after our discussion, the photo was deleted right away. Of course, I never even looked at the content.”
Addressing rumors about having alternate accounts, Park clarified, “I know about these rumors, but it’s absolutely not true. I only have one official account.”
The actor emphasized, “While it was my mistake, wrong is wrong. I’ve caused concern to many people, and I’m fully aware of my mistake. I’ve been reflecting and blaming myself up to now. I completely understand the gravity of the situation, and I’ll be much more careful to ensure nothing like this happens again.”
