Bogotá: City of the Lost, the first Korean film shot in Colombia, will hit theaters on December 31st. Featuring an all-star cast led by Song Joong Ki, Lee Hee Joon, and Kwon Hae Hyo, the film unveiled its first teaser trailer and stills, offering a glimpse into its gripping tale of survival and ambition.

Set in the aftermath of the IMF crisis, Bogotá: City of the Lost follows Guk Hee (Song Joong Ki), a man who leaves South Korea in search of a new beginning in Colombia. There, he becomes entangled with Soo Young (Lee Hee Joon), a power player in the Korean-Colombian smuggling scene, and Sergeant Park (Kwon Hae Hyo), the kingpin of the operation.

The teaser opens with breathtaking shots of Colombia’s lush, exotic landscapes, immediately pulling viewers into the film’s unique setting. As Guk Hee struggles to seize what he sees as his last chance at hope, the trailer teases his tumultuous entry into Bogotá’s underworld. One scene shows Soo Young deftly bribing customs officers to pass smuggled goods, his influence as the second in command of the operation demonstrated by a convoy of brightly colored trucks under his command.

Sergeant Park’s ominous words, “Guk Hee, survive and make it to Zone 6,” contrast sharply with Soo Young’s dismissive remark, “You think you can get out of Zone 1? You can’t.” These lines set the stage for Guk Hee’s perilous journey through the social hierarchy of Bogotá, from the lowest Zone 1 to the elite Zone 6.

The tagline, “A place where the hopeless make their last stand,” paired with glimpses of the characters’ intense struggles, heightens anticipation for the web of intrigue, survival, and alliances among the Korean diaspora in Bogotá.

The first batch of stills further brings the story to life, capturing the vivid desperation and resilience of the Korean community in a foreign land.

Directed by Kim Seong Je, Bogotá: City of the Lost promises a riveting mix of action and drama when it hits theaters on December 31st.
