The agency further stressed, “The spread of malicious defamation, defamatory posts, and baseless rumors is criminal. We will take firm civil and criminal actions without any negotiation or leniency. We have already gathered significant evidence and are moving forward with legal proceedings based on this evidence.”
“We continue carefully collecting additional evidence regarding ongoing malicious posts and false information. All gathered materials have already been submitted to our legal team. We are also closely monitoring specific online communities for harmful content. Those who continue to target our artist while hiding behind anonymity will face severe legal consequences, without exception,” they added.
In its statement, the agency warned, “We are investigating netizens who continue to spread unfounded accusations and distorted criticisms. All verified cases will be met with strict legal action. We remain fully committed to protecting our artist’s rights and reputation.”
On November 13, the Northern Gyeonggi Police Department’s Criminal Mobile Unit requested an arrest warrant for a female BJ on extortion charges under the Aggravated Punishment for Specific Economic Crimes Act. She is accused of extorting more than 800 million won from Kim Junsu between September 2020 and October 2024. The suspect allegedly used a recorded audio file as leverage to threaten Kim Junsu, with reports suggesting that the crime was committed to fund drug-related expenses.
Kim Junsu addressed his fans directly through the fan communication platform Phoning regarding recent allegations. He expressed his confidence, stating that he hadn’t done anything wrong and that the issue in question dated back five years. Junsu mentioned that he had since avoided meeting people, reflecting on the possibility that he might have made a mistake. He noted the difficulty in knowing someone’s true intentions until faced with such situations. Despite being arrested as a suspect, Junsu remarked on the unfortunate nature of facing public scrutiny simply because of his celebrity status but reassured his fans that he was okay.
Despite the ongoing controversy, he will officially open the musical Aladdin this Friday. On Sunday, he attended the preview performance as scheduled, showing his resolve to continue his professional activities.
