Yulhee has made shocking claims about her ex-husband, Choi Min Hwan, alleging that he visited adult entertainment venues where illicit activities, including prostitution, take place.
On October 24th, Yulhee uploaded a video to her YouTube channel, following her recent appearance on TV Chosun’s All By Myself. Reflecting on her TV appearance, Yulhee admitted, “I was extremely nervous. It felt like I was being judged by myself.”
Yulhee, who shares three kids with Choi Min Hwan, opened up about their divorce, explaining, “Divorce was a choice I made for myself, while everything else was for the children.” She also shared why the divorce was settled amicably without a lawsuit, saying, “We made the decision together through conversation. I didn’t think it was necessary to bring up fault.”
Responding to criticism for sending her children to an expensive English kindergarten, which reportedly costs KRW 8 million (approx. $6,000) per month, Yulhee clarified, “It was something we agreed upon. Who would willingly send their kids an hour and a half away? It was hard for me too. The costs weren’t forced on him; we both felt we could manage it.”
The most shocking part of the video came when Yulhee claimed that her marriage began to unravel about a year before the divorce, after learning that Choi Min Hwan had been visiting adult entertainment venues. She recalled, “A major incident occurred about a year before we separated. After that, everything in my marriage changed. It wasn’t just the stress of childcare or arguments with my husband; it was that event that made me not want to be at home anymore.”
Yulhee recounted a disturbing incident at home, stating, “Before I found out about the venues, there was a time when he had cash from playing Go-Stop. His mother was doing the dishes, and we were sitting together when he suddenly stuffed the money into the collar of my chest area of my pajamas.” She added, “I’ve never been to places like that, and I didn’t know that culture, but everything started to click. I thought his intense affection while drunk—groping my private part and twisting my chest—was just a drunken expression of love.”
Yulhee also released audio recordings of a man, allegedly Choi Min Hwan, from various dates in 2022. In one recording, the man says, “Hey, there aren’t any girls. I need to be home by 7 AM,” and in another, “Install Telegram if you can, and send me the amount.”
Yulhee and FT Island’s Choi Min Hwan married in 2018 but divorced in December 2023. Choi Min Hwan took custody of their children and is currently appearing on KBS2’s The Return of Superman with them.
