Disney Plus is set to release its original series Light Shop on December 4th, and anticipation is building following the release of an interview video titled “Shedding Light.” The video features the cast and creators sharing their reasons for joining the project, offering fans a deeper look into what makes this story special.
Light Shop follows a mysterious store located at the end of a dark alley, where customers with enigmatic secrets begin to appear. The series promises a captivating narrative as these visitors’ hidden stories gradually unfold.
In the newly released video, writer Kangfull explains his motivation for the project: “As a viewer and a reader, I wanted to create something I would enjoy.” Kangfull, who made waves globally with the Disney Plus hit Moving, has teamed up with director Kim Hee Won and an impressive cast.
The video highlights the cast’s personal connection to the project. Park Bo Young remarked, “I had complete trust in the project,” while Um Tae Goo shared, “I’ve never seen a script like this beforeIt. It left a deep impact.” Seolhyun said, “I cried a lot reading it,” while Lee Jung Eun added, “I was so curious about the secrets of the visitors coming to ‘Light Shop.’ The writer is simply brilliant.” Shin Eun Soo called it “a new experience,” while Kim Min Ha praised the series’ depth: “It’s incredible how the story integrates humanity within its universe.”
Kim Hee Won, making his debut in series directing, praised Kangfull’s storytelling: “His emotional depth is one of the biggest strengths in this project.”
Light Shop is adapted from Kangfull’s popular webtoon of the same name, which has accumulated over 150 million views. With a total of eight episodes, the series will release four episodes on December 4th, followed by two episodes each week over the next two weeks.
