BLACKPINK member Jennie inspires women worldwide with her new single Mantra.
Jennie released the audio and music video for “Mantra” Friday morning across multiple streaming platforms simultaneously. “Mantra” is a powerful and energetic anthem that encourages everyone to shine in their own way and confidently embrace their unique charm. The song delivers a message of self-love and mutual support, celebrating individuality and each person’s distinctive presence.
Jennie described “Mantra” as “the perfect song to usher in a new era. I believe it will make fans happy and allow me to showcase a new side of myself as a solo artist. My time recording inspired this song in Los Angeles, and I hope it brings positive energy to everyone.”
The music video was directed by Tanu Muino, who gained recognition after winning the Best Direction award at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards for Lil Nas X’s “Montero.” Muino has also collaborated with prominent artists such as Harry Styles, Doja Cat, and Cardi B, establishing herself in the music and art scenes.
“Mantra” is already receiving enthusiastic responses from fans and media alike. Rolling Stone praised the song as captivating, while VOGUE expressed confidence that it will make a significant impact, comparing it to tracks like “You & Me” and “SOLO.”
With Jennie’s return nearly a year after the release of her special single “You & Me” last October, there is great anticipation of seeing if she can make waves in the music industry again with her new image.
In the meantime, BLACKPINK has renewed its group activities with YG Entertainment as of December 2023. However, no exclusive contracts were made for individual activities, allowing all members to pursue solo careers. Jennie has established her own agency, ODD ATELIER, to focus on her solo projects.
