BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is in discussions to star in the upcoming drama Monthly Boyfriend (literal title), as she looks to further her acting career.

According to an OSEN report on the 29th, Jisoo has been offered the lead female role in the new drama Monthly Boyfriend. A representative from her solo label, BLISSOO, commented, “She has received the offer and is currently reviewing it.”

Jisoo made her acting debut in January 2022 with the JTBC drama Snowdrop. Following that, she made a special appearance in the film Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman and recently completed filming for another movie, Omniscient Reader. Based on a popular web novel of the same name, the film is slated for a summer release next year. In the movie, Jisoo plays the role of Lee Ji Hye, a high school student who later becomes known as the “Admiral of the Sea,” alongside leads Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Min Ho.

Jisoo has also wrapped up filming for the new Coupang Play series Newtopia, where she stars opposite Park Jung Min. Newtopia follows soldier Jae Yoon and his girlfriend Young Joo, who must navigate a zombie outbreak while struggling to reunite.

Earlier this year, Jisoo became the third BLACKPINK member to establish a solo label, BLISSOO, in February. While continuing her activities with BLACKPINK under YG Entertainment, Jisoo is expected to focus more on her acting career. Her brother, Kim Jung Hoon, serves as the head of BLISSOO, further supporting her solo ventures.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK recently celebrated their 8th anniversary with their Born Pink world tour and released the concert film Born Pink in Your Area. The group is also planning a full comeback and another world tour next year, much to the excitement of fans around the globe.
