Kim Hye Yoon was in for a delightful surprise at her Taiwan fan meeting.
On October 24th, Kim Hye Yoon was at her fan meeting in Taiwan, where she was watching video messages from fellow celebrities when someone unexpected showed up. The actress, who rose to fame as the new “K-wave fairy” earlier this year with tvN’s hit drama Lovely Runner, is currently on an Asian fan meeting tour.
To the delight of fans, Byeon Woo Seok, her co-star from the show, made a surprise appearance in a video message at the event. The two actors have been melting hearts with their chemistry both on and off-screen, sparking fans to cheer for a real-life romance.
Byeon Woo Seok greeted fans warmly in his video, saying, “Hello, this is actor Byeon Woo Seok. I heard that Hye Yoon is having a fan meeting, so I wanted to say hi. I know a lot of fans have been waiting for this, so I sincerely hope Hye Yoon and her fans have a great time together. Congratulations, and please enjoy the event. Thank you.”
Kim Hye Yoon had no idea about the surprise video message, and when his face suddenly appeared on the screen, she was visibly flustered, stomping her feet in surprise and unable to hide her laughter. The Taiwan fans, packed in the venue, erupted in cheers at Byeon Woo Seok’s surprise appearance and showed enthusiastic support for Kim Hye Yoon’s adorable reaction.
So caught off guard by the surprise, Kim Hye Yoon even forgot to pause for the interpreter to translate. After watching the video, she shyly responded, “I’m just grateful Woo Seok did this for me. As he said, I’ll make sure to have a great time with my fans. Thank you so much… yes, thank you,” she said bashfully. The actress added, “I really didn’t know. It was so unexpected that I got a bit flustered, so please excuse my awkwardness,” admitting her own awkwardness and bringing smiles to the audience.
Before Byeon Woo Seok’s surprise, her co-star from Snowdrop, Jung Hae In, also appeared in a video message to celebrate Kim Hye Yoon’s fan meeting. Jung Hae In said, “I heard many fans have been eagerly waiting for Hye Yoon, and I hope today is filled with happiness. Please show lots of love and support for Mamel (My Melody) princess, Kim Hye Yoon. Hye Yoon, fighting!”
At her previous fan meeting in Osaka, Japan, video messages from other stars, including Yum Jung Ah from her agency Artist Company, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo from Snowdrop, and Rowoon from her first lead role in Extraordinary You, were shown to the fans.
Kim Hye Yoon has recently wrapped up her successful run on Lovely Runner and is finishing her Asia tour. Her agency has also announced that she is considering her next project, titled I’m Human from Today (literal translation).
