As you watch the drama, I hope you’ll appreciate the thought and care the actors put into creating their unique characters.”

Point 2: Following the Queen’s Intense 24-Hour Journey to Take Control of Her Destiny

Director Jung Se Syo was inspired to create this series after learning about the historical records of Queen Woo, who actively chose her own future by stepping out of the palace to make decisions herself. He remarked, “I was fascinated by the idea of a queen who wasn’t just a passive figure. I wanted to create a character who took charge of her own destiny, choosing the king herself and securing her power.”

Point 3: Heart-Pounding Chase in a Thrilling Historical Adventure

The Empress Woo is set to introduce a new genre of historical drama, centered on the intense chase between Queen Woo and the tribes and princes going after her. With the story unfolding over a tight 24-hour period, the series promises a fast-paced narrative filled with various chase scenes and non-stop excitement.

To highlight these unique elements, director Jung Se Kyo shared, “We’ve used a fast-paced editing style to keep the action moving and matched the music and sound effects carefully. Each tribe has its own unique vibe and style and there are some jaw-dropping action scenes that you won’t see in any other Korean drama. ”

Point 4: The King’s Death Ignites a Deadly Game

In the drama, Queen Woo marries her late husband’s brother to protect what is dear to her, after the sudden death of King Go Nam Mu (played by Ji Chang Wook) throws the nation into chaos. The king has four brothers, including the ruthless third prince, Go Bal Gi (played by Lee Soo Hyuk). With the fate of her family and the nation at stake, Woo Hee must make the most careful decision of her life. The intense story of that night, as Woo Hee navigates through the pursuit of the tribes to find the next king and secure power, will captivate the audience.

The Empress Woo promises to deliver a gripping experience with the synergy of its powerful cast and the thrilling 24-hour chase for the throne. Director Jung Se Kyo stated, “Keep an eye on both the investigation inside the palace and Woo Hee’s adventures outside. These parallel storylines will add depth and intrigue to your viewing experience.”
