With just days to go until the August 23rd premiere, Pachinko Season 2 is already generating buzz with the release of a striking new poster and a wave of enthusiastic reviews from international media.

Pachinko, known for its sweeping narrative that warmly captures a story born from forbidden love, spans across Korea, Japan, and the United States, portraying an unforgettable chronicle of war, peace, love, loss, triumph, and judgment. The newly released poster for Season 2, which continues the tale across multiple generations and borders, has heightened expectations for the upcoming episodes.

The poster features key characters, including Kim Min Ha and Youn Yuh Jung as the resilient Sun Ja, and Lee Min Ho as the cold-hearted businessman Han Su. The dramatic contrast of gold and blue hues in the poster immediately captures attention, hinting at the epic saga that unfolds from the 1940s through the 1980s. This visual teaser only amplifies the anticipation for what promises to be a captivating continuation of the Pachinko story.

As the premiere approaches, Pachinko Season 2 is receiving high praise from critics worldwide for its stunning production and powerful performances. Collider raved about the new season, stating, “‘Pachinko’ has already proven that it should be part of any conversation about the greatest modern shows. As it did in its spectacular first season, the series continues to weave a sweeping emotional tapestry spanning decades in time with moments big and small that lay you flat.” The South China Morning Post echoed this sentiment, calling Pachinko “the very best in top-tier melodrama, a beautifully realized epic of hardship and heartbreak,” and promising that Season 2 will deliver the same emotional depth as its predecessor. Paste also lauded the performances of Kim Min Ha and Youn Yuh Jung, noting, “Both performers get across her (Sun Ja’s) steely resolve, with each rare glimmer of unvarnished emotion hitting with additional impact.”

Receiving accolades for its deeply Korean narrative, Pachinko Season 2 consists of eight episodes. The first episode will debut on Apple TV+ on August 23rd, with new episodes releasing every Friday until October 11th.
