Tyrant tells the thrilling story of the race to find a biological weapon that has been stolen during a secret handover between Korean and US intelligence agencies. It is also director Park Hoon Jung’s first original series. He’s the mastermind behind hits like New World and the Witch series.

Explaining his decision to join the project, Kim Seon Ho shared, “I’m a huge fan of the Witch series, and the chance to portray a character unlike any I’ve played before was incredibly exciting.”

Following the trailer’s release, Kim Seon Ho addressed comparisons to his The Child role due to his character’s intense stare. “The only resemblance is the ‘crazy eyes,'” he admitted with a laugh, “but my eyes aren’t something I can change!” He elaborated, “This character is a complete departure. Unlike the one in The Child who reveled in chaos, my Tyrant character is constantly wrestling with internal conflicts. He’s worn down, lonely, and isolated.”

Kim Seon Ho also highlighted the contrasting physical demands of the roles. “Filming was significantly easier this time. I spent most of my scenes indoors, while Cha Seung Won had a lot of action sequences. However, my character grapples with constant internal struggles, so portraying those complexities was a different kind of challenge.”
