BLACKPINK is officially diving into individual careers. With Rosé‘s recent move to The Black Label, founded by Teddy, the future paths for all four members are now set. Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé are gearing up for solo album releases later this year, while Jisoo focuses on her acting career. As the members who have set numerous records as a group now pursue solo endeavors, all eyes are on their next milestones.
Rosé recently announced, “Starting at the end of last year to all throughout this year, I’ve been in and out of the studio almost every single day, working on new music. I will have some other very exciting announcements in the not-too-distant future.”

Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo have established their own labels for solo activities. Lisa, who garnered global attention for her relationship with Frédéric Arnault of LVMH, will release her new single, Rockstar, under her independent label LLOUD on the 28th, marking her first new music in nearly three years since her solo album Lalisa in September 2021. Additionally, Lisa is set to appear in HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3.
Jennie, who founded her independent label Odd Atelier last December, is adopting a more approachable strategy. She has appeared on tvN’s variety show Apartment 404, KBS’s The Seasons: Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet, and even featured on Zico’s latest song “Spot!” On the 18th, she also hosted a listening party for Billie Eilish’s new album, further engaging her audience. Jennie is currently working on her solo full-length album, set for release later this year.
Jisoo has started her solo career under Blissoo, a label her brother established under his company Biomom, and is focusing on her acting career. She is currently filming the movie Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint (literal title) alongside Lee Min Ho and has confirmed her role in the Coupang Play series Influenza.
Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has achieved numerous “firsts” and “bests,” establishing themselves as K-pop’s premier girl group. By last year, their world tour generated approximately 190 billion KRW (around 148 million USD), and they became the first Asian artists to headline the world’s largest music festivals, Coachella and BST Hyde Park. Their second full album, Born Pink, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making them the first girl group in 14 years to do so.
Despite renewing their group activities contract with YG Entertainment, detailed plans for group activities remain unclear, leaving fans eager for more. BLACKPINK celebrates their 8th anniversary this August.
An industry insider commented, “At eight years in, there’s still much potential for their group activities. It’s disappointing because they could have achieved even greater heights as a group. Although they have renewed their group contract, it will be challenging to coordinate schedules now that they have scattered.”
Conversely, another insider remarked, “Due to their sparse album releases and extensive world tours, they didn’t have many opportunities to connect with domestic fans. However, their individual activities are making them more familiar to the public. By showcasing their unique styles, they can attempt new things that weren’t possible as a group. This could lead to greater synergy in future BLACKPINK activities.”
