The Seoul Drama Awards 2024 Nominees Announced: Kim Soo Hyun, Byeon Woo Seok, Cha Eun Woo and More

Global K-drama fans will be voting for the winners of the prestigious Asia Star Awards and OST Awards at the Seoul Drama Awards 2024.

The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee and TNK Factory announced that from June 15th to July 14th, fans worldwide can cast their votes for the Asia Star Awardcovering Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singaporeand the Drama OST Award through the voting app Idol Champ.

The Asia Star Award recognizes drama actors who have garnered love and support across six Asian countries over the past year. Separate awards will be given to male and female actors. Nominees from Korea include Kim Soo Hyun (Queen of Tears), Byeon Woo Seok (Lovely Runner), Cha Eun Woo (Wonderful World), Song Kang (My Demon), Suho (Missing Crown Prince), Junho (King the Land), Chae Jong Hyeop (Castaway Diva), Kim Ji Won (Queen of Tears), Park Bo Young (Daily Dose of Sunshine), Kim Hye Yoon (Lovely Runner), YoonA (King the Land), and Go Youn Jung (Moving). The intense competition includes popular pairings like the Baek-Hong couple from Queen of Tears and the Sol-Seon couple from Lovely Runner.

In other countries, notable actors are also vying for the award. In Thailand, Blue Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen, famous for Netflix’s Ready Set Love, and Poompat Iam-samang from the Thai remake of Korea’s Start-Up, are nominees. From the Philippines, Kim Chiu is in the running, while Emily Chan represents Malaysia. Singapore’s favorite, Desmond Tan, and Indonesia’s Ochi Rosdiana are also competing. This year’s inclusion of emerging markets highlights the importance of cultural exchange within the region.

For the OST Award, voting will focus on K-drama theme songs and their artists. Contenders include Crush (Queen of Tears), Seventeen’s Seungkwan (Tell Me That You Love Me), NewJeans (My Demon), (G) I-DLE’s Miyeon (My Dearest), and BTOB’s Seo Eunkwang (Cheif Detective 1958).

The complete list of nominees will be available on the Idol Champ app starting June 15th, with various events offering tickets to the awards ceremony on September 25th at KBS Hall and rewards for participating voters.
