Lee Do Hyun Teased in Uniform for ‘The Backpacker Chef 2’ Episode 2

Lee Do Hyun, currently serving in the military, was featured in a teaser for an upcoming episode of The Backpacker Chef 2.

On the 26th, tvN’s The Backpacker Chef 2 aired its first episode, featuring extreme catering by Paik Jong Won, Lee Soo Geun, Heo Kyung Hwan, Ahn Bo Hyun, and Ko Kyung Pyo. The team successfully completed their first mission and received a hint for their second mission, leading them to guess it involved an orchestra. However, Ahn Bo Hyun noticed the guns and knives from the hint, suggesting a military band instead.

The teaser revealed the cast visiting the ROK Air Force Honor Guard Band, where Lee Do Hyun, currently serving in the Air Force Band, was shown in uniform, catching viewers’ attention.

Lee Do Hyun enlisted last August and is fulfilling his duty in the Air Force Band. The Backpacker Chef 2 team visited his base, and the teaser showed Lee Do Hyun holding a food tray and waiting in line, clearly impressed by the team’s culinary skills.

During his military service, Lee Do Hyun’s movie Exhuma was released and became a hit. He expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, “I am deeply thankful for the support from fans and viewers. I’ll serve as Soldier Lim Dong Hyun for now, and next year, I will return as a better actor next year and thank you personally.”

Lee Do Hyun also attended the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards in uniform, where he won Best New Actor for Exhuma. In his acceptance speech, he thanked his co-stars and family, and concluded with a special mention to his girlfriend, Lim Ji Yeon, saying, “Ji Yeon, thank you.”

Fans are eagerly anticipating seeing more of Lee Do Hyun’s military life in the upcoming episodes of The Backpacker Chef 2.
