After a six-year hiatus, Player is back with a new season, rebranded as Player 2: Master of Swindlers, premiering on June 3rd. tvN has officially announced the return of this high-stakes action drama, which delves into the thrilling world of con artists, hackers, fighters, and drivers who have become even more formidable this season.
Song Seung Heon reprises his role as Kang Ha Ri, the mastermind con artist and leader of the crew, who crafts intricate schemes to dismantle colossal forces of evil. This season, he returns bolder and more meticulous, ready to lead his team through daring challenges. Oh Yeon Seo joins the fray as Jung Soo Min, a mysterious ally—or possibly a watchdog—who draws Kang Ha Ri back into the game, gathering the team for a significant heist with her meticulous strategies and charismatic presence.
Lee Si Eon returns as the hacker Lim Byung Min, who can take control of any computer system in the world with just his skills and a keyboard, blending deep thoughtfulness with his humorous flair. Tae Won Seok portrays the fighter Do Jin Woong, known for his overwhelming physicality and fighting prowess. Joining them this season is Jang Gyu Ri, who transforms into Cha Jae Yi, the new driver with a tough exterior but a soft heart.
The production team shared, “The cons have their own way of dealing with villains and delivering justice. We expect the fiery team play and action to provide a thrilling sense of catharsis for the audience.” Player 2 is set to make its exhilarating comeback on tvN, airing its first episode at 8:50 PM on June 3rd KST.
