BoA‘s agency SM Entertainment released an official statement on April 11th announcing that they will be taking legal action against malicious commenters.

The statement reads as follows:

“A recent surge in online harassment targeting our artist has come to our attention. This includes the spread of false information, malicious insults, and slander across social media platforms, video-sharing sites and online communities. We are taking decisive action by partnering with legal experts and external advisors to file comprehensive lawsuits domestically and internationally.

Since the previous announcement, we have already collected sufficient information on a number of posts and are currently investigating. We will also continue to collect information and hold them legally accountable.

The relentless online attacks have become incredibly difficult for the artist to bear, causing her immense emotional pain. We will not tolerate this behavior and are committed to holding the perpetrators accountable through legal action. Be aware that any further malicious posts will be met with legal consequences.

We would like to emphasize once again that such acts are criminal acts that infringe on an individual’s honor and dignity, and that the perpetrators can be severely punished according to the relevant laws. We strongly urge you to stop the indiscriminate attacks against our artist.”
