Gong Myung has returned to the spotlight with his first photoshoot since his military discharge, featured in the February issue of Marie Claire Korea. In the photoshoot, Gong Myung presented a more daring and adventurous side, symbolizing the start of a new chapter in his career. Additionally, he shared insights about his upcoming movie Citizen of a Kind, set to hit the theaters on the 24th.
Reflecting on the changes since his enlistment, Gong Myung expressed satisfaction, saying, “I feel that I’ve changed a bit in both appearance and mindset after my military service, and I think that transformation has been well captured in this photoshoot.”
Regarding his upcoming film Citizen of a Kind, Gong Myung shared his enthusiasm, “I always try to view any project objectively from the audience’s perspective when it’s released. I am confident that this is an entertaining piece.” In the movie, he plays the role of Jae Min, a member of a voice phishing gang and an informant. He discussed the complexities of his character: “I put a lot of thought into how to portray Jae Min’s complicated situation in a way that’s easy to understand. I discussed with the director a lot on set about that very aspect.”
Gong Myung also revealed his goals for 2024, stating, “My aim for this year is to continue working on projects without taking a break.” He added, “What I’m most looking forward to is the ‘depth’ I can add as an actor,” hinting at a more mature and profound evolution in his acting career.
