The final episode of Genie TV’s original series, Tell Me That You Love Me saw Cha Jin Woo (played by Jung Woo Sung) and Jung Mo Eun (Shin Hyun Bin) reuniting after a painful breakup.
Following her separation from Jin Woo, Mo Eun confronts her own desires, realizing that she has always sought something Jin Woo couldn’t provide. Hearing her struggles, Yoon Jo Han comforts her, advising, “Don’t be too hard on yourself.” Despite realizing his true feelings for her, she politely responds, “I hope you find someone who loves you and makes you happy.”
Meanwhile, Jin Woo pays a visit to his mother, Go Woo Hee (Cha Mi Kyung), in the hospital. Even though she fails to recognize him as her son, she sees the face of the man she once loved in him. That evening, Jin Woo drinks away the sorrow of missing Mo Eun, the one who brought miracles into his life. Eventually, he decides to leave for the United States to erase his memories.
A year later, Jin Woo returns to Korea and receives a theater ticket. Upon arriving at the theater, he spots Mo Eun on stage as the main actress. She also finds him among the audience and immediately rushes towards him after the performance. Having waited for her, he says, “Hello, my name is Cha Jin Woo. Nice to see you again,” in sign language, greeting her just as he always has. His unspoken confession ‘I love you, Mo Eun’ strongly resonated with many viewers.
