BLACKPINK members are charting independent courses for their solo careers, while their collective endeavors as a group will continue under the management of YG Entertainment.
On December 29th, YG confirmed, “We have recently extended our contract for BLACKPINK’s group activities. However, it has been agreed upon that separate contracts for individual activities will not be pursued.” The statement continued, “YG will dedicate its utmost support for BLACKPINK’s group endeavors, while the members’ solo activities will receive our warm encouragement.”
Earlier on December 6th, YG officially announced the renewal of the exclusive contract with BLACKPINK for their group activities. With YG’s backing, the act is set to continue engaging their global fanbase through new album releases and an extensive world tour, fitting their international acclaim.
This development coincides with Jennie’s recent establishment of her independent label, ODD ATELIER (OA). While BLACKPINK will maintain their group presence with YG’s support, each member is poised to independently explore and expand their solo careers.
