Disney Plus has released an illustrated poster for Vigilante with positive comments for the live-action series from its original webtoon writer Kim Gyu Sam.
Vigilante is an action-packed thriller that follows Kim Ji Young, a dedicated police cadet who becomes a nighttime crime fighter. He goes outside the law to serve justice to criminals who’ve escaped legal consequences, all while dealing with a cast of characters with their own unique motives.
Writer Kim Gyu Sam watched the drama before its release and offered high praise, saying, “I found the ending of every episode very fascinating. Given its genre as an action thriller, the drama series was much better than its original webtoon. I really loved how the drama adaptation stimulated my imagination.”
Regarding the casting, he revealed, “Nam Joo Hyuk has that sweet image, but what really caught my attention was the slightly intimidating look he naturally has. That was what I liked about him the most and why I thought he was perfect for the role. When it came to casting Jo Heon, a character with cartoon-like qualities, I had my doubts about who could pull it off. Right then, Yoo Ji Tae was cast in that role, and I had no doubt that he would nail it. Lee Joon Hyuk‘s portrayal of the unhinged Jo Kang Ok was irreplaceable. Kim So Jin also did a fantastic job bringing Choi Mi Ryeo to life. I’m thankful for the amazing performances from the entire cast in the drama,” expressing gratitude to each cast member.

When asked about what viewers should pay attention to in the drama, the writer suggested, “You’ll enjoy it even more if you compare the drama remake to the original work.”
