IVE’s Jang Wonyoung’s spirit of overcoming an injury has recently come to light.

On the 12th, Director Son Seung Hee, who directed IVE’s “I AM” music video, guest-starred on the MBC Radio show hosted by GOT7 Youngjae.

During the show, Director Son expressed her gratitude, particularly toward IVE’s Jang Wonyoung. She revealed, “I’ve never talked about it officially, but Jang Wonyoung injured her arm while dancing on the set and had to have seven stitches. It was the first time I was so surprised on the site.”

The director continued, “We had about the content of two episodes left to shoot, and I thought we wouldn’t be able to film when she got injured. But she went to the emergency room two days in a row, got stitched up, and came right back to perform all the scenes. What was so cool was that she didn’t show the pain at all on set. I wouldn’t have been able to do it at her age.”

She went on, “The choreography for ‘I AM’ requires the dancers to extend their arms, doesn’t it? Seeing her on the set, I felt as if my arm was hurting. It was heartbreaking to see her performing the powerful dance moves.”

Furthermore, she relayed, “But once the filming started, she was so professional, not showing any discomfort and thoroughly monitored every scene. It stuck with me even after the shooting.” She added, “Many of the scenes that people thought were cool wouldn’t have existed if Wonyoung hadn’t been able to perform after her injury.”
