Disney Plus has revealed its K-content lineup for 2023, which includes a wide variety of highly anticipated shows and series that will follow the success of the Disney Plus original series Big Bet that concluded its part 2 last March.
The original series lineup includes the K-office drama Race, starring Lee Yeon Hee, Hong Jong Hyun, Moon So Ri, and Yunho, that depicts the struggles of office workers. The show will be released on May 10th. Additionally, Shadow Detective Part 2, starring Lee Sung Min, follows detective Tae Rok on his final pursuit to catch his blackmailer “Friend.”
Furthermore, there are two projects both boosting A-list cast: Han River, starring Kwon Sang Woo, Kim Hee Won, Lee Sang Yi, Bae Da Bin, and Shin Hyun Seung, about protecting the Han River, and Moving, featuring Ryu Seung Ryong, Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, Cha Tae Hyun, Ryu Seung Bum, Kim Sung Kyun, Kim Hee Won, Ko Yoon Jung, and more. The explosive synergy between Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Jun, and Lim Se Mi will be showcased in The Worst of Evil, while Nam Joo Hyuk’s new action thriller Vigilante will follow the story of Kim Ji Yong, a model police academy student by day and a vigilante by night.
Disney Plus will also offer a diverse range of original content, from variety shows to documentaries. The music documentary SUGA: Road to D-DAY, featuring BTS’s Suga, and the sports documentary Full Count with all ten South Korean professional baseball teams participating, are set to be released on the 21st and 26th, respectively. Psy’s summer concert live film Psy Wet Show 2022 and the return of Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Kwon Yuri’s incredible chemistry in the variety show The Zone: Survival Mission 2 will also be available on Disney Plus.
In addition to original content, Disney Plus will offer popular Korean productions, such as the family spy comedy Family, starring Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra, and the highly-anticipated series Romantic Dr. Kim 3. Viewers can also look forward to The Devil by writer Kim Eun Hee, featuring actors Kim Tae Ri and Oh Jung Se, and the collaboration between firefighters and police officers in The First Responders 2.
