Nam Tae Hyun was booked for DUI.
On the 8th, the Gangnam Police Station confirmed they had booked the singer for violating the Road Traffic Act (DUI). According to the police, at around 3:20 AM KST, Nam Tae Hyun opened his car door while parked on the roadside and hit a taxi passing by. This accident broke the taxi’s side mirror, and afterward, Nam Tae Hyun drove about 20 meters (about 66 feet) away from the scene.
Nam Tae Hyun’s blood alcohol level at the scene was 0.114%, which is high enough to revoke his driver’s license (0.08% or higher). The police booked him at the scene and took him to the station, but the singer was sent back home since he was too drunk to answer any questions.
It’s been reported that Nam Tae Hyun is said to have told the police that he was waiting for the designated driver at the time of the incident.
A police official told News1, “We plan to summon Nam Tae Hyun again to investigate the details of the accident.”
