BTS’ J-Hope opened up about his upcoming military enlistment.

On Sunday, the singer personally took to Weverse live streaming to announce his enlistment. “I’m sure you’ve already heard it, but I started my enlistment process today.” This makes J-Hope the second BTS member to fulfill his mandatory duty following Jin.

“It’s something I’ve been planning and thinking about since last year,” he explained. “Following Jin‘s enlistment, I thought that it’s better to enlist quickly and return to show you an even better side of myself. Thus, this is the decision that I have made.”

The exact date of his big day is yet to be decided. Earlier the same day, HYBE confirmed that J-Hope recently applied for the cancellation of his military postponement.

“As soon as the announcement was made, Jin called me right away. I asked him all sorts of things, like what I need to prepare,” J-Hope added. Lastly, the singer comforted his fans, telling them, “It’s not a big thing. I’ll be back soon.” Later on, Jin greeted the newcomer, “Welcome. I’ll be a private first class soon. If we meet, don’t even think about seeing me in the eyes. I’m a private first class and you’re a new recruit.”

As J-Hope mentioned himself, he’s prepared lots of things for his fans for the time he’ll be gone, and that includes his new single, on the street, to be released on March 3rd. This marks his solo comeback seven months after his solo debut with Jack in the Box in July last year.
