Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Kwang guest appeared on SBS Power FM’s Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time on the 15th to talk about their upcoming Disney Plus series Call It Love.
The two actors have known each other since their modeling days. “All the actors in the drama are about the same age and very friendly, so the atmosphere on the set was cheerful,” they shared, giving a glimpse into the impressive teamwork the cast had during the shooting.
Kim Young Kwang then talked about how his thoughts on Lee Sung Kyung changed while filming the show. “The images I had of Lee Sung Kyung are of a tomboy and a prankster, but we grew closer together while working together. One day, I was watching her, and she looked so mature. If I think of her character, I felt, ‘I’d have no other choice but to fall in love with her,'”
Lee Sung Kyung chimed in, “I call him (Kim Young Kwang) ‘Kim Shin-chan.’ The Shin-chan-like Kim Young Kwang that I knew wasn’t at the scene, so I missed him. He was there as Han Dong Jin (Kim Young Kwang’s role), all depressed.”
Choi Hwa Jung mentioned the two stars’ chemistry, saying, “I heard that the director thought you two were really dating as he was editing.” Lee Sung Kyung playfully replied, “The director told me, ‘Everyone in the editing room went crazy.’ But you’ll see in the behind-the-scenes video, but we were always bickering, so he just went, ‘Hmm…'” giving a big laugh.
Meanwhile, Call It Love tells an emotional love story of a woman who jumps into revenge even though she wasn’t built for one and a man who’s too pitiful to be the target of revenge. The show will be released on Disney Plus on the 22nd.
