Kim Yoo Jung made her successful theater debut as Viola in Shakespeare in Love.
The actress received rave reviews for her first-ever theater performance. She was showered with compliments after the play’s first run on January 29th. Fans wrote, “She is Viola herself,” “I want to see her performing more in the future” and “What a great delivery. She made me obsessed with it.”
Adapted from the 1998 film of the same title, Shakespeare in Love tells a fictional love affair involving playwright William Shakespeare and Viola de Lesseps while Shakespeare was writing Romeo and Juliet. Kim Yoo Jung plays Shakespeare’s love interest Viola de Lesseps, a confident woman who strives to achieve her dream of becoming a theater actress, which was considered taboo at the time.
Kim Yoo Jung also garnered great attention for her stunning visuals shown in the behind-the-scenes photos. She showcases her mature and elegant beauty in a glittering dress and captivates viewers with her dreamy eyes and lovely smile.
Meanwhile, the Korean version of Shakespeare in Love runs from January 29th to March 26th at CJ Towol Theater in the Seoul Arts Center.
