Love to Hate You is a lethal opposite-attract rom-com about a woman who morbidly hates losing to men and a man who is morbidly suspicious of women. On the 19th, Netflix dropped new still photos of the four main cast – Kim Ok Vin, Yoo Teo, Kim Ji Hoon, and Go Won Hee.
All her life, Yeo Mi Ran (Kim Ok Vin) was constantly disappointed by men, her father, her boyfriend, and even her law firm male colleagues. Hating the saying “women need to be protected,” she taught herself all sorts of things to protect herself such as auto racing and martial arts. After finding a new career as an attorney for celebrities, she meets top star Nam Kang Ho (Yoo Teo). After studying abroad for a long time, Nam Kang Ho returned to Korea and made his debut as an actor. With his good looks, intelligence and good deeds like making donations, he’s kept his position as a top actor in Korea. Though he’s called “the master of romance,” he can’t stand women due to childhood trauma, so action is his preferred genre.
Yeo Mi Ran and Nam Kang Ho always have their friend by their side. Kang Ho’s best friend Do Won Joon (Kim Ji Hoon) made his debut, thanks to his handsome looks, but he quickly altered his path to manager-slash-agency head after realizing the limits of his talents as an actor. Mi Ran’s best friend Shin Na Eun was actually the girl Mi Ran’s boyfriend cheated on her with in their school days. But Na Eun was impressed by how cool Mi Ran was at the time and became her bestie. Unlike Mi Ran, Na Eun falls in love with any guy with a handsome face.
Kim Ok Vin showed love for her role that resembles her in many ways and introduced Yeo Mi Ran as “the brightest character she’s played in her filmography.” Yoo Teo raised expectations for the heart-fluttering romance he’ll portray, saying, “If there’s a similarity between Nam Kang Ho and me, it’s that we’re both good at the romance genre.”
Meanwhile, Netflix’s Love to Hate You will be released on February 10th.
