Daesung uploaded a video on his YouTube channel D’splay on January 2nd and expressed his gratitude for his time at YG Entertainment.
“I am thankful to the label for looking after me over the years and guiding me to become the person I am today. I embark on this new adventure with deep gratitude in my heart,” he said. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t afraid. As nervous as I am about taking this risk, I believe it will be well worth it in the end.”
He added, “The year 2023 is approaching fast. Although I don’t know what the future has in store for me, I take this step forward with only a brave heart. And I intend to walk down this road with firm determination.”
He closed off the statement with a clip of G-Dragon walking forward. He said, “Someone once stated that nothing lasts forever. But that’s not true. Some things last forever. It’s BIGBANG.”
Daesung ended his contract with YG Entertainment in December last year, following Taeyang.
