First Look Poster out for Netflix’s ‘Jung_E’ Starring Kim Hyun Joo, Kang Soo Yeon and More

Netflix dropped the first look poster for Jung_E, a new dystopian sci-thriller written and directed by Yeon Sang Ho.

The upcoming movie follows a group of individuals attempting to succeed in brain cloning robots of legendary mercenary Jung E, who is the key to victory in the 22nd century when civil war broke out in a shelter shell built by mankind, at a time when living on Earth was no longer suitable due to climate change.

The newly released poster shows the fate of the future mankind and the three protagonists looking determined to fix the problems they face. The image features Jung_E (played by Kim Hyun Joo), the finest soldier who excelled both in combat and strategy, and an AI combat machine holding a gun against broken laboratory windows. On the left stands Seo Hyun (Kang Soo Yeon), the team leader of Kranoid Lab; on the right stands Sang Hoon (Ryu Kyung Soo), the head of the same lab that will create Jung_E. The captions on the poster reads, “AI combat warrior Jung_E, escape from all humans,” heightening expectations on what will happen between the AI machine and its creators.

Director Yeon Sang Ho shared, “I decided to produce the movie as I wanted to make people think about what an AI truly is. So I combined the pictures and action scenes that can only be seen in sci-fi movies with a theme that many can relate to. Jung_E is about relationships, especially between humans and nonhumans, and the irregularities that come from them. I hope the movie makes people think about what defines being a human and if being human only applies to human beings.”

Jung_E will premiere on January 20th.
