20th Century Girl actress Kim Yoo Jung revealed the secret behind the beautiful school trip scene.
Netflix Korea posted a behind-the-scenes clip titled “So Who Confessed to Kim Yoo Jung? 20th Century Girl” on its official Youtube channel. The clip had Kim Yoo Jung, Byeon Woo Seok, Park Jung Woo, Roh Yoon Seo and director Bang Woo Ri sharing stories behind the scenes of the popular Netflix film.
When the school field trip scene was shown, Kim Yoo Jung confessed, “If you look closely, my ears are really red. I actually had sipped a drink before filming that scene.” Director Bang said, “That’s why that scene came out more realistic.” Roh Yoon Seo added, “I love this scene so much.”
The cast members wowed once again as they watched the close-up scene of Kim Yoo Jung and Byeon Woo Seok. The actress said, “The cameraman tried really hard to take a beautiful shot of that scene.” Byeon Woo Seok chimed in, “I had to squat down a little to match her height.”
The director shared, “I tried to make it a dreamy scene. As Bo Ra was not herself for the drinks she had, I wanted the scene to have a dream-like atmosphere. I thought showing the school teacher walking by over the opaque window would heighten the romantic tension between the two and make their unexpected rendezvous more interesting.”
Byeon Woo Seok confessed that his heart had beat very quickly back then when shooting the scene. Others laughed and asked, “Why were you so nervous?”
