Jung Ho Yeon rocked up to this year’s Emmy Awards wearing a pastel Louis Vuitton look, complete with a gorgeous traditional Korean hair piece.
On September 13th, the Squid Game star attended the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards with Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Oh Young Soo, and Hwang Dong Hyuk.
The South Korean actress garnered much attention for wearing a long slit dress with mother-of-pearl-like embellishments. The dress was designed by Louis Vuitton.
The star’s unique hair piece also grabbed headlines. Following the good old hair accessory she wore at the SAG Awards a few months back, she added a traditional detail to her look this time with a gorgeous hairpin placed on top of her classy jet-black hair. The accessory appears to have been inspired by the classic Korean hair piece called ‘cheopji’, which Korean queens and concubines used to decorate their hair in the Joseon Dynasty. Moreover, Jung Ho Yeon donned a dress adorned with floral spangles to match her hair ornament.
In an interview after the event, the star said, “I’ve made amazing memories over the past year since the release of Squid Game. I’m very happy that director Hwang Dong Hyuk and actor Lee Jung Jae could win at the awards. It was an unforgettable memory for all of us.”
She also shared her future plans, saying, “Since I just started acting, I want to pursue my career in and out of Korea if I have the chance. I’m so grateful for all the love that I’ve been receiving.”
Louis Vuitton reportedly created two custom-designed dresses for the Squid Game supernova.
The dress reportedly took 110 hours to craft, with an additional 490 hours of placing 20,000 sequins and embroiders to complete the gorgeous geometric pattern. The custom-made hairpiece, which resembles a traditional Korean hair ornament, was inspired by the petals of chrysanthemums. It reportedly took more than 30 hours to assemble. The Fortune Bag is made of lambskin leather, and its silver-color metallic corners evoke Louis Vuitton’s iconic trunks.
